“The spiritual journey is individual, highly personal. It can’t be organized or regulated. It isn’t true that everyone should follow one path. Listen to your own truth.” – Ram Dass
Ghandi said “my commitment is to the truth, not to consistency.” In other words, what’s true in this moment is what guides me, regardless of what was true yesterday, last year or what will be true in an hour or tomorrow. This is courage in it’s purist form.
From all my studies, what I’ve gathered so far is…
All the answers are within me.
(That’s pretty much the worst thing you could ever tell a high achiever, which therefore means it’s the best thing you could tell them.)
As a high-achiever I want to believe that I ‘know it all’, but I have trouble believing that if you don’t affirm it for me. I want to lead the way but I have trouble if no one follows.
My resistance to going within, whether it is gross or subtle in it’s announcement, is ever present. And I recognize that THIS is my curriculum, my learning line, my karma, my path to awakening.
And though I can’t promise that I’ll ever cease to seek, to ask, to read, to listen to try and learn from outside…
I pray that one day I surrender the sword of achievement for the love of enlightenment.
